My name is Ron Pelissier (RIP) Just a little about myself. I love to fish, it’s my passion. I’ve been coming to Yakutat since 1980. I have come back every season since that time. I fell in love with the country. It had been a dream of mine my whole life to come to Alaska. That dream is now fulfilled. I’ve loved fishing my whole life. Having been raised on the Russian River in California where my grandma Mae lived, boating fishing, and hunting. I am an avid bow hunter. I love to hunt birds and raised German Short Hair Pointers for many years. My special passion has been Steelhead fishing. Since coming to Alaska I have fished mostly the Situk River. I have learned the river quite well over the years. Since 2000 I have been a registered Situk River Guide. I can now pass down my knowledge to others as well as educate them on protecting the forest so their children's children will be able to enjoy it for many years to come. I first built a home in Yakutat in 1995 and have live in Yakutat since that time. I now own and operate the Steelhead Inn. I’ve learned through the years that Yakutat offers so much more than just fishing; hiking, sight seeing, photo opportunities and witnessing all the changes of the seasons truly makes it God’s country.
