March brings the spring steelhead run on the world famous Situk River. Large ironheads invade the river in record numbers providing some of the finest steelhead fishing anywhere in the world. This fishery is basically a catch and release experience, a true trophy fishery. Fishermen are allowed to keep only one steelhead over 36" per year.

By June 10 most of the steelhead have left the Situk River returning to thier ocean home. Following the departure of the spring steelhead Sockeye salmon in huge numbers invade the Situk River along with King Salmon and pink salmon providing unlimited action until approximately July 25. The mightly Situk then takes a small break before the Coho (Silver) Salmon arrive in huge numbers providing non-stop action until late October.

And if this wasn't enough the saltwater fishing is always excellent providing huge Halibut, Ling Cod and various other bottom fish within' twenty minutes of the harbor. Guess what, come late October another run of steelhead enter the Situk River providing a winter experience for the hardy angler.
